As a former latchkey kid, Keshia always longed for fun and creative things to do while out of school. Many of her peers would find themselves in vulnerable and unsafe situations during times when they were out of school.As an adult, she struggled to find affordable and quality out of school time activities for her children so she began to develop Dreamers Playground. 

Keshia Dearing has over 15 years of experience working in the Nonprofit sector and serves on the Board of Directors for a Youth Development Organization in Washington, DC. She is a proud graduate of Norfolk State University and holds a Bachelors Degree in Social Work as well as many other certificates relating to Youth Development and Business Management.

She is an author, inspirational speaker, life skills workshop facilitator and community servant. .She develops and leads workshops for youth that provide opportunities for them to grow academically, socially and emotionally. Keshia is also the Co-Founders of Young, Gifted and Blessed which is a developing brand that aims to encourage positive self-worth within youth.

Keshia holds a strong belief in meeting people where they are and that kindness can change the world. These beliefs motivate her as she continues to make a positive impact in her community and in the lives of others.
